Attack on Triboar
Arriving in Triboar on foot after being dropped off a ways by the cloud giant, the company meet a few locals, gambled and won the Talking troll - a broken down tavern, dined with a shady wizard who asked the company to steal a mummified beholders eye from the local lord protectors vault, and successfully repelled an attack on the town by two fire giants and a handful of well armed orcs. Luna kept the orcs pinned down using a ballista on the roof of the town keep, while the wizards cooked up an ice-storm and then drove the giants out of town with a tornado. Under Old Owl Well...
Hidden under the foundations of the ruined keep, the company found more undead, guarding a few rooms with piles of left over treasure, collected from deeper inside the rotting tomb. After investigating the ruins several dead zombies and skeletons later lay amongst the cold flagstones and destroyed traps. A magically sealed portal guarded by an undead serpent blocked further exploration of the tomb. Hundur the barbarian sat out the battle after being charmed by the boney snake, leaving the heavy lifting to Luna the rouge, the sorceress Akra and Tarquin the wizard. After nuking the area (and half of the treasure) with a fireball the boney serpent was toast. Overwhelmed by the number of magical locks on the portal the company headed for Conyberry and discovered the plight of the villagers, who were attacked by hill giants and orcs. They tracked hill giant tracks and witnessed a small orc army encamped in the caves of Wyvern Tor. Thinking better of a frontal assault the company headed for Triboar to get backup. They were picked up by Zephyros, a somewhat crazy cloud giant in a flying tower. On route to Triboar they met a bunch of air elemental cultists, and gained a bag of pixie dust, as well as a couple other possibly helpful items. |
